General description

The Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) – funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Science and the Arts – supports and advises Bavarian scientists and stakeholders from the private sector in securing European funding for research, development and innovation. The focus is on the EU’s current Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, Horizon Europe. BayFOR provides project management to consortia with Bavarian coordinators on a regular basis. BayFOR is set up as a private non-profit organization with its headquarters in Munich and additionally offices in Nuremberg and Brussels.

As a partner in the Enterprise Europe Network, Europe’s largest advisory network for SMEs, BayFOR provides targeted advice and support for Bavarian companies (especially SMEs) interested in EU research and innovation projects. BayFOR is a partner institution in the Bavarian Research and Innovation Agency (BayFIA). As a central point of contact, the BayFIA helps small and medium-sized companies and educational institutions acquire funding from the Free State of Bavaria, the German Federal Government and the EU and offers advice and support on all issues relating to technology transfer and patent exploitation.

Expertise related to the project

BayFOR is actively involved as project manager of projects with Bavarian coordinators. It also offers training courses to project managers. In addition, BayFOR takes the role of preparing and leading dissemination activities in several Horizon projects. For a list of current relevant projects, please check the homepage below.
