IntelliMan at MWC 2025: Advancing AI-Powered Robotic Manipulation

In the first week of March 2025, the IntelliMan EU Project was showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, one of the world’s leading technology events. As part of Eurecat’s participation, IntelliMan was presented as an AI-driven solution for advanced robotic manipulation, highlighting its potential applications across various industries.

MWC is a global hub for innovation, bringing together researchers, companies, and policymakers to discuss the latest developments in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and robotics. For IntelliMan, it was an opportunity to disseminate the project’s objectives, methodologies, and impact, engaging with stakeholders from multiple sectors.

Revolutionizing Robotic Manipulation with AI
The IntelliMan project is tackling one of the biggest challenges in robotics today:
How can robots efficiently learn to manipulate objects in a purposeful, highly performant, and safe manner?
Traditional robotic systems often struggle with variability in real-world environments, requiring precise programming for each task. IntelliMan introduces a paradigm shift by integrating:
✅ AI-powered skill learning – Enabling robots to acquire and refine manipulation skills from human demonstration.
✅ Autonomous decision-making – Allowing robots to interact with objects of different shapes, sizes, and materials without pre-defined instructions.
✅ Knowledge transfer – Ensuring that robotic systems can apply learned skills across different applications and hardware platforms.
✅ Human-robot collaboration – Investigating user perception and factors that enhance human acceptability of AI-driven robots.
✅ Safety and reliability – Implementing adaptive fault detection to guarantee consistent performance in dynamic environments.

Real-World Applications: From Manufacturing to Daily Assistance
The IntelliMan project applies these innovations to a diverse set of real-world use cases, ensuring that robotic manipulation technology can be effectively deployed in:
Manufacturing – Robot-assisted flexible assembly of products, including handling deformable objects like cables and connectors.
Food Industry & Logistics – AI-powered grasping and packing of fresh, unpackaged food items with delicate handling requirements.
Healthcare & Assistive Robotics – Intelligent upper-limb prosthetics that provide sensory feedback and reduce cognitive load for amputees.
Household Robotics – Smart kitchen assistants capable of performing multi-step daily-life tasks autonomously.

By participating in MWC 2025, IntelliMan strengthened its visibility among industry leaders and policymakers, emphasizing how AI-powered manipulation systems will play a key role in next-generation robotics. We are moving toward a future where robots are not onlyhighly capable in industrial and logistics tasks but also able to interact meaningfully with humans in daily life and healthcare settings.

We are excited to continue sharing updates on our progress and upcoming results!”
